Why it makes a lot of sense to sell a property off-market, if it is the right property in the right location The common wisdom is that your property needs to be on the major listing portals in order to sell and get that best price, but that isn't always the case.

My latest post looks at why selling a property off-market can make perfectly good sense and not end up seeing you leave money on the table when selling. cameronkusher.substack.com/p/why-it-mak...

Why Australians are fed up with immigration Half of all Australians say migration is too high and politicians are hearing that message loud and clear.

It’s pretty easy to see why Aussies are fed up. The economy is weak, inflation is high and wage growth hasn’t been sufficient enough, housing costs are up, infrastructure is lagging and the government can’t coherently explain the benefits of migration. www.afr.com/politics/fed...

Where cash buyers are splurging billions on property More than 141,000 residential properties were sold without a bank loan involved in FY24, according to PEXA.

If you want to know why property prices have continued to rise over the past year, more than 1 in 4 sales over the past year were cash sales. www.afr.com/property/res...

If you are from Brisbane it was not long after breakfast and if you are operating on WA you are getting served lunch for breakfast.

I caught a 9am flight from Brisbane to Perth today instead of waiting for 3 hrs and serving you lunch at 12 Brisbane time, they serve you lunch ASAP after the flight takes off around 9.45 Brisbane time with no additional service. It was very odd.

ICYMI Sydney and Melbourne had more properties listed for sale in October 2024 than they have had since November 2012. New listings nationally had their strongest October in nine year cdn.rea-group.com/wp-content/u...

Bluesky sadly doesn’t yet appear to have the completely derangement of some of the posts on Twitter. I am sure it will get there though.

Wifi and somewhere to charge your devices would be a good start.

A train that goes as fast as a car would be a great start. 11 hrs from Melbourne to Sydney seems too long to me.

About to embark on the getting home to Brisbane from Melbourne by train and car because I can’t fly challenge. This will be a fun few days. I suspect I come out of this saying we desperately need HSR in Australia.

I assume some students stay less than a year but the data is volatile month-to-month. Either way that is a lot of people that need somewhere to live.

How terrible do you feel atm? I remember doing it once felt terrible for a week and then the best I’d ever felt thereafter. Dropped 7kg in 2 weeks (I should do it again).

Interesting data from the ABS today, in 2021 38% of migrants that had been in Australia less than 5 years owned a home with the figure jumping to 71% for those in Australia more than 10 yrs (69% home ownership rate for the total population of the country).

My first post. Universities should have to build housing on site (and a lot of it) to help accommodate the overseas students they bring in to the country.
