Buy Covid tests at most pharmacies.

Mask up with N95 or better. @covidactionnz.bsky.social has some mask blocs giving out free masks.

Open a window or meet outside. Use an air purifier in your home.

Blis K12 probiotics daily and Dymista nose spray also help.

THIS. Hands up if every ^bleep^ing flu season, your workplace is thrown into low-productivity chaos for weeks as the Designated Office Martyr does ZERO work while infecting the whole office with their "just the sniffles"

it doesn’t have to be like this, even when those in power are doing all the can to make change seem impossible. but you can make choices every day that very literally the material reality of all who share air with you, just by wearing a tool that filters.

Thursdays are quite a LOT with a good six hours of teaching so here a confectionary selection of impractical footwear (at least for my huge feet) to soothe a tired brain. All late #1950s Roger Vivier for Dior @metmuseum.org #FashionHistory πŸ—ƒοΈπŸͺ‘

Oh FFS.

I have people tell me covid isn’t that bad. Then I tell them my story of how it fucked me over.

These headlines are dangerous. It will cause damage to people. While putting immunocompromised people like me at further risk.

Ways the govt could quickly help New Zealanders reduce fuel usage, but probably won’t 🀷, for reasons:

⚠️ Lower speed limits
🚌 Encourage PT (eg bring back half-priced fares)
🚲 Encourage active modes (eg pop-up bike paths)
πŸ›€οΈ Move freight from road to rail (eg ramp up KiwiRail)
🏑 Support work-from-home

I really wish this had just carried over and became a norm.

Mask when you’re sick, in a crowded area, in medical settings - if these small changes had stuck we would see so much less disease transmission.

Like, let’s also get fresh air and hepas!

Shared air is gross!

This is a smart business idea, employees facing rising petrol prices when already stretched by cost of living would find releif and some pressure off. WFH also increases productivity despite what the micro managers say

40%! 🀯 I’ve always believed 10-20% of the gen pop w/ Long Covid is an underrepresention bc not everyone with LC symptoms report it to their Dr. & not every Dr. recognizes symptoms as LC.

Why are you letting yourself become chronically ill? Mask up 😷 clean the air bc vax does NOT 100% prevent Covid

Bottom line from the last 6 years of COVID research : If you’ve got blood vessels, you’d be wise to avoid additional infections.

Now is a great time to normalize wearing a respirator. Might feel awkward at first, but every person who does makes it easier for others to follow. Be a leader. 😷

Grammarly Is Facing a Class Action Lawsuit Over Its AI β€˜Expert Review’ Feature The feature, which Grammarly shut down Wednesday, presented editing suggestions as if they came from established authors and academicsβ€”without their consent.

I'm suing Grammarly over its paid AI feature that presented editing suggestions as if they came from me - and many other writers and journalists - without consent.

State law requires consent before someone's name can be used for commercial purposes.

A bunch of circles within each other

Outermost circle - what I feel & go thru

2nd outermost circle - what i can put into words

3rd outermost circle - what i tell others

4th and smallest circle - how much others actually understand

Anyone can become disabled at any time.

Your life can change in an instant, no matter how strong and healthy you think you are.

People will leave you. Funds will dry up. Life will get tougher.

It’s not a moral failing.

It’s a minority group you can join anytime.

The collective is often referenced mostly as a Pacific collective, but people forget that also includes Māori. Here's some work from our Takatāpui artists Māhia Tekore and Jaimie Waititi.

Haha, was going to make a pacing joke about the video! I think from memory that it’s all just question and answer so you can just listen if that helps? (TV is my rest time so I would find no TV really tough). Feel free to DM me if you ever feel like reaching out 🌻🌷

I am generally not a big video watcher but it resonated with me. It explained the crashes in a way that made sense to me by someone with both expertise and experience. And gave me some small but practical things to try. It has helped with some of the daily stuff in a small way.
