For this coming year, I’m building an Alpha Legion, HH, ZM list for a new campaign. So far, I’ve built a pathfinder, saboteur, and siege master for HQs. Two five man headhunter squads, and a contemptor dread. I’ll start painting once some upgrade bits are delivered.
It’s been a busy month! I’m surprised I’ve done any hobby. Here are three units for Orktober/Dread-tober/Lost to the Nail hobby challenge. I will say that I now feel comfortable with sponge weathering. #mastersoftheforge

WIP - Exodus from the Alpha Legion - chainmail silver base and talassar blue contrast paint for the armor and Vallejo color shift paints for the cloak and over the armor too. Next are details so I can put him in the cabinet.

Khenetai Blade Occult - (10 man squad) I added jump packs even though they’re not officially equipped with them. The panoptica ruleset does allow them though. I added them because they’re awesome and should be jumping into battle.

I’ve also been working on a 10-model unit of Khentai Occult Blades. The unit doesn’t have jump packs in the main rules but the jump packs look amazing and rule of cool takes precedence. #mastersoftheforge #thousandsons
Super busy semester and didn’t get a lot done. I finished this group last week and will be used as some sort of demon unit in Horus Heresy games.
Two consuls for my 30k thousand sons: Yes, that is a sorcerer on a hoverboard, much more interesting than a stock jump pack or disc of tzeentch. And yes, both models are converted from Imperial Fist characters.

Which other clear reds did you use? I’m using a chain mail silver base under the clear red. I tried the blood angels contrast over the silver and it’s fairly close to my current scheme.
My red scheme is also a lot of steps but I use the Ghost Tint blood red instead of the AK interactive. Beautiful model!
Great color scheme! What are you using to get the red?
