Happy #DarwinDay!
Charles Darwin was born 217 years ago, on 12 February 1809.
In an increasingly uncertain world, his thoughts are more topical than ever.
Today we celebrated the #InternationalDayofWomenandGirlsinScience by sharing cake and coffee.
No extra work, no talks or panels about gender bias in science.
Just enjoying, for once. π

Today I locked my office and went to work to the meeting room, in an attempt to free some time to write. π©βπ»
Surprisingly, it worked! Even though the door was open, people assumed I was busy and didn't interrupt. πͺ
On the plus side, I had a great view of the garden! πΊ

So difficult. I have flagged this to editors-in-chief when I found non existing references, but, to date, the papers remain uncorrected π€·ββοΈ
Academics and technologists are sounding the alarm about a growing crisis in scholarship as we know it: AI-generated citations of nonexistent papers that have infested real journals. Despite being fake, the sources are widely assumed to be authentic the more they appear in published literature.
INRAE is recruiting: @umr-iam.bsky.social should soon be offering a permanent position as a research scientist to study the effect of #microbiota on #tree #health.
