You heard it on Spacepod first! New Nature Geoscience article confirms that asteroids can smell sweet:

I'd argue meteorites don't count, since volatiles are such an important part of taste. (But I would also be against anyone eating some of the sample-return mission samples)

I mean, we can speculate, but we don't actually know until someone tries a taste! But probably not the most healthy experiment to try.
