Opus 4.6 one shotted a fully working CDB-MCP server, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it couldn’t build this for you pretty quickly.

Interesting chart in @pkrugman.bsky.social blog today about the role of oil in the US economy over time.
Quite the performance, including the legend herself! The whole LUX album is terrific too.

Raster Bars will never cease to make me smile
Think they’re advocating for child labor, and worried about job losses for US 5y citizens.
Well that’s not right!
Started a new job last week (at CrowdStrike), and spent some time updating my setup now that Mac is my primary work machine. 49” monitor and USB switcher toggles between work machine and personal gaming/video PC, with personal Mac on the side. The vinyl is always spinning…
True. I think my eye was drawn to just the debt line, and the amount of risky investment it represents regardless of the underlying price of equities. Twice the leverage today vs. 1999.
Adjusting for inflation makes this look a bit better, but it's still ~double the margin debt rate in 1999.
Great overview of the current state of agentic coding, with lots of tips+tricks.

Happening NOW: Eruptive M1.52 flare from the center disk. There looks to be an Earth-directed CME leaving now, although we need time to confirm how much material is actually ejected! Source is AR 4236. More updates soon.

Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin ✨ figured out what stars are made of ✨ when she was just 25. 🔭🧪
Her PhD thesis basically established the Harvard astro department — at a time when Harvard didn't officially allow woman students.
I wrote this little profile to mark the 100th anniversary of her thesis:
If you were a 90s club kid like me (even if not in NYC), you’ll love the nostalgia and imagery Night People by Mark Ronson evokes. The audiobook narrated by the author is perfect for that late night long drive you were dreading, as it evaporates w/ Hip Hop history.

I picked up something similar yesterday and really liked them. Think I still prefer the frozen raspberry ones though.

The fairy lights I put in my daughter’s room have a janky remote so I wanted to just hard wire them. They’re in parallel, with every other LED reversed, so I needed a little H bridge and clock to get them going. The best parts are free ones you have lying around! Total overkill of course!
M.U.L.E. is the only acceptable answer.
Word is CC runs native on Windows now, about to give it a whirl.
That looks super sweet!
I had an idea for a little word puzzle game, which I vibe coded up in <24 hours and deployed to AWS. Most of my time was spent coming up with puzzles, and tweaking CSS! Give it a whirl and let me know what you think. New puzzles daily!

Just saw it and checked it out. It's awesome!
I wish! I don't have anything from my C64 demo/BBS and early 486 coding days.
Basically the walls were like DOOM. When the ray ht a special wall (infinite height) flag it would index into another set of data that was all the wall textures. It was all tile based as well, so you could have bigger worlds. Fun times!
This is very cool! Back in the day I wrote an engine that ray-casted against height maps for floor/ceiling and could also have wall segments. Hand-crafted x86 in ModeX. Following your work now!
Just got a new Dell, and boy are there a lot of background auto-start apps!
Wife got a great pic of Bear after her haircut.
