Extra Β£9m to support victims of violence against women and girls The fund will give the most vulnerable victims access to legal advice, counselling and key services.

Supporting victims and survivors to rebuild their lives is at the heart of my work to tackle violence against women and girls.

That’s why I’m committing an additional Β£9m for specialist support, helping survivors develop the skills they need to secure their futures.

I just go with a simple 'Bollocks'. Said it in a meeting recently when checking the news so think it sometimes sneaks out.

Government says police and crime commissioners are a β€œfailed experiment”, with the system due to be scrapped soon.

Given the shenanigans at Hertfordshire’s Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, with bullying claims, cronyism, unprecedented staff jollies and hotel bills, the cull is overdue.

A letter from out of off of the new issue of Viz, accompanied by two (count 'em) pictures of the latest issue. At jaunty angles. And here is the letter. A-hem... "When he got his Β£80 million recording contract back in 2002, Robbie Williams famously shouted "I'm rich beyond my wildest dreams". I don't know what his 'wildest dreams' entailed, but I'm surprised they involved selling catfood a quarter of a century down the line. Mike Tatham, Dundee'

The world is in a perilous state. But there's a new issue of Viz on sale today, and while that may not particularly alleviate geopolitical tensions, at least it probably won't make them very much worse

Really enjoying this book from Justin. Even if you think you know-it-all about 80s pop, this book shoehorns all kinds of facts and context around the bits you remember, it really brings that period back to life. A brilliant book.

Cover of Get Ahead of Being Dead, Your Handy Planner for the End of Life by Evie King. Red flowers surround the text, living at the top, wilting in the middle, dying at the bottom. Quote from Richard Herring at top. Don't buy this book if you're already dead, it's too late.

M is for maybe this starts with an m
N is for next letter, and that one's an n
E is for easy, like spelling this word
M is for magpie, the stealingest bird
O is for only three more letters to go
N is for nearly there, you mnemonic pro
I is for imminent, this poem's end
C is for congratulations, my spellingwell friend
