Do you actually live here?
Do you actually live here?
Itโs Ukraineโs turn to ask if we even said โthank youโ.
It would be insane, stupid, and destructive on every imaginable level, that's for sure.
"Okay but what if we just take a little bit of the tar sandy part?"
What are the chances that invading Alberta is one of the ideas now being "workshopped" by the Trump admin?
Hey, here's an idea. Have they tried encouraging electric car adoption as a way to lower gas prices? ๐ฌ
You are one of the all time greats and I respect it ๐ซก
A Reductress post features a photo of Kristi Noem with the headline, โKristi Noem Put Down for Being Too Hard to Trainโ

That number is burned into my consciousness. I inadvertently learned that you could see private conversations in public chat rooms when using Telnet instead of a browser on GeoCities. I can tell you the difference in audible dial-up handshakes between 1200, 2400, 14.4 kbps modems. I needed a edu email address to join Facebook after my university was admitted. We were here at the beginning. We made social media. You wouldn't be in my Top 8. I have usernames older than you. 852 Q62 G6 72
โI have usernames older than you.โ.
Holy shit
Turns out lawlessness is not a winning strategy. See you at Nuremberg 2.0
COONS: Does DHS operate with arrest quotas?
NOEM: No we do not. We do targeted enforcement
C: I would prefer if you did, but just last year Stephen Miller went on Fox & said, 'We're setting a minimum of 3,000 arrests for ICE every day'
N: There's no quota
C: He's reportedly berating officials
This is obviously ridiculous but I do actually think itโs worth thinking about the point of internal immigration enforcement: if a person is here without legal status but their presence is so unobtrusive that it doesnโt catch the attention of any sort of law enforcement, who actually cares?
But daylight savings time isn't 50-50. It's 8 months of "winter" time and 4 of "summer" time.
So it's either annoying for 1/3 of the year, or for 2/3. ๐ฌ
I think the 4 months where Vancouver is an hour later than the US west coast will be slightly annoying for meetings, but that's it.
Also, one of the kebab guys spoke French which was a huge help ๐
Thank God for Turkish kebab carts.
The only places in ๐ฑ๐ฎ that are open past 8pm and culturally legible to weary travelersโฆ at least this one. ๐
Why do European airlines always insist that window shades remain up before takeoff? What problem does this solve or protect against? ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
Interacts poorly with their frequent lack of on-ground air conditioning.

People with lots of cash and legal issues in their home countries ran to hide in Middle East Las Vegas and you thought this wasn't coming to your doorstep at some point? Buddy.
Hedge funds admitting their staff had not considered significant risk cases to their decisions is a bit, well, you get the idea.
Wicked! Does the Wicked Zone extend beyond Massachusetts and RI?
I went to Massachusetts for work often a few years ago, and heard it used casually and unironically by people ranging in age from 20s to 50s.
Beefore that, I had heard it in the UK, but never knew it was common in MA too ๐
Really fascinating that there was a time, not so long ago, when "the leader of Iran is cool with nuclear power" was seen as a plausible domestic selling point in the USA. ๐คฏ
The ongoing ambiguity of awesome seems like a-feature-not-a-bug in terms of its religious usage ๐
The one that I know from Boston is "wicked."
And apparently Gen Alpha now uses "chopped" to mean ugly. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
Yes, good one!

As a kid, I remember being very confused by the use of "awesome" to mean fearsome or terrifying in prayer books. As a translation of Hebrew ืึธืืื (ืึฐื ืืจึธื).
And both are Jewish ๐ตโ๐ซ
I just don't understand how Jews of any political persuasion can consider Platner without having major misgivings at best.
Wait, which Jewish community called itself ืื ืขื, or called its host country that way? ๐ค
I've never read this anywhere, seems fascinating.
Counterpoint: I would settle for a "not that great" president right now. Even a string of 3 or 4 in a row would be a reassuring breath of fresh air!
Is "silly" an example of this?
Meant ~feeble-minded in the 16-17c, but now means light-hearted/childlike/playful in a lot of contexts.
I'm not really clear on when it shifted, though, and some of the earlier negative meaning ("unserious") still remains.
"No no no it's not a war" ๐ตโ๐ซ
War! War! Itโs the Department of War! Donโt be so afraid to say war, you beta cucks!
Is this a war?
No.
