Super Nintendo Famicom (SNES) with Super Wild Card floppy drive add-on inserted.
Some words regarding the Nintendo PlayStation prototype revealed the other day. I'm not surprised that it looks like the Super Wild Card SNES floppy drive that would have been used for piracy, the similarities are pretty amusing.

Iβm pleasantly surprised with the way Nintendo transitioned from NS1 to NS2. With the huge NS1 user base, I expected them to drag their feet (like Sony/Xbox) on making new games NS2 exclusive. Outside of what had been already announced prior to NS2, they largely havenβt.

Maybe I'm out of pocket but I'm kind of shocked at the turnaround people are giving Marathon considering it's a sham reboot of a dead franchise that got caught plagiarizing an artist for their entire aesthetic to the point where the game couldn't be shown for months.

The cover has a light blue background tinge. Centered in the upper third is the title and underneath is the author. The illustrators name is centered in the lower one-sixth. In the middle is Stuart, dressed in a red shirt and yellow shorts. He's steering a canoe down a stream. There are various green plants in circled around the canoe, but Stuart and the canoe are center stage.

It's a ZX81! A small 8-bit computer with a built-in membrane keyboard.
This was my first computer. I learned to write English and BASIC at the same time, on its little keyboard - so everything I've put out into the internet is its fault in some way. Happy birthday, little ZX81.

Lots of people have asked me how Ingot good at writing longform articles / posts etc.
Itβs not a definite answer, but from early childhood to now Iβve been an avid reader - of fiction (novels, sci-fi).
I still read fiction daily, and I suspect it has helped massively.

someone just tried to tell me Gunn's Superman was about denying his heritage to assimilate as an American and framed it as a criticism of the movie, and it's making me feel crazy.
His heritage was genocide, brother.

I deleted the thread on emotional crash outs because I can say it more succinctly like this:
Check on your emotionally reserved friends. A lot of us don't express distress openly and many people mistake that for invulnerability or hypercompetence. I find that especially true among trans people.

Finding myself buying records and CDs instead of streaming music, watching 4Ks and Blus instead of streaming, trying to disconnect from my phone. Itβs not for everyone; it can be an expensive habit. But it makes the media I enjoy feel more substantial. Less choice. More investment.

Idk how people can only see the good parts of their favourite game/ franchise.
For me it sticks out like a sore thumb when something is great and even more so when it's incredibly bad/ could be improved.
We can't just be positive about games. How do we get good ones without constructive criticism?

I think i'm a book snob.
I have a lit degree, read the classics and settled on a modern american lit focus. Most of the books I read and loved for my degree were old, tightly written and well told.
Every time I try to read current fiction, my brain spends the entire experience rewriting the book.
