That's because our political debate has polarized into Good Faith Actors vs Bad Faith Actors.

I prefer a good understanding of logical fallacies, and to write off anybody who employs them.

The problem is that elected leaders are tools used to enact policy goals.

When voting is a referendum on the tools instead of the goals, then the focus turns to bickering about methods instead of achieving desired outcomes.
