A brilliant, well-articulated and thoughtful blog from someone who has experienced violence and abuse and attended our June annual conference. . . it is vital to bring Lived Experience voices into violence-related research for depth, context, and insight.

Sexual violence has an economic cost. Researchers say it’s more than 10 times higher than we think
Experts are calling on the government to invest urgently in preventing sexual violence and supporting survivors.
Proud to have partnered with @vision-research.bsky.social & @rapecrisis.bsky.social on this important new research.
Sexual violence costs England & Wales a jaw-dropping £400bn. The govt must put money where their mouth is at the upcoming spending review and invest in specialist support services.

This important research from @vision-research.bsky.social in collaboration with @rapecrisis.bsky.social and WBG marks a shift in how we understand the impact of sexual violence- allowing us to look at the full, lifelong economic burden of one year’s worth of offences. The findings are shocking.
