Interestingly tho, I do have some pretty good pre-order offers that I might actually be able to do, which is the whole reason I am considering it. That said, it does require that I trade-in my LG G8... I do not want to do that.

If this thing can't keep up with last years Snapdragon models then I have a hard time picking this over waiting for something else. I don't need all the performance ever, but I hold onto my phones for a long time, so having performance headroom is important to me.

Despite the fact that Pixels are pretty well known to be kinda odd post launch, the Pixel 8 Pro has really caught my attention with that camera system (not hugely improved but pretty great) and 7 years of support. Family has had issues in the past, but I'm interested.
