Happy Lunar New Year! It's the Year of the Fire Horse!
I almost skipped this year since I'm so bad at drawing horses, but I brute-forced my way through it. ๐

And a timelapse of MOST of the drawing.
Rough sketch was done on paper, and I also forgot to turn on the recording feature in ClipStudio initially.
What can I say? Some years are more optimistic than others.
But ya know, the usual festive wishes to all of you!
Work schedule was a little tight this holiday, so I had a little less time to do this year's card.

Odd. For some reason I somehow didn't upload it with the images.
Some pencil drawing practice.
Ended up being a little reminiscent of the shades in Hades. Unintentional, but I HAVE been playing a lot of Hades 2 lately.

Mostly done on the train the other day but then overworked a bit more at home.
Cheap ballpoint pen drawing in a cheap sketchbook.
Kinda got lost and overworked it a bit too much. Started out as a jellyfish inspired creature, but now it kind of looks like a drunk penguin eating noodles.
A small pencil drawing in the sketchbook.
Whenever I go long stretches of doing client work (especially for more corporate clients), my brain gets scrambled and I can't figure if all the creativity got squeezed out of me.
Always a bit of a struggle trying to draw after that. At least for a few.
Finished this small ballpoint pen drawing that I had started earlier today at the monthly artist gathering.

I just backed It Came From Hallowzine! on @kickstarter.com www.kickstarter.com/projects/rev...
No worries! Happens to most of us at some point. Hope you can get it back safely!
Hey we've never spoken to each, but I think your IG account has been hacked.

Cover reveal for It Came From Hallowzine! We were very lucky to have Wesley Wong @weswongwithyou.bsky.social do the illustration for this year's Hallowzine. We will be launching a Kickstarter to help fund the printing of this book next week Tuesday.

It Came From Hallowzine kickstarter from Aquatic Panda Distro will be launching on July 22nd! I got to do the drawing for the cover. I love the treatment that @super_edco and @saturn2169.bsky.social did for it

Thanks for the plug, Ryan! Yeah, Daimon and I have known each other for years.
I'm not that established, so no need to be scared. I get to work with a bunch of Chicago-area people so I keep things really flexible in terms of budget. Feel free to give me a poke whenever.
Cover by ME! Colors by @weswongwithyou.bsky.social Wesley Wong. I've known Jim since he was the lone physics professor in the MN FallCon Artist Alley in the early 00s. Jim teaches at U of MN, so that's Minneapolis behind us looking north on Nicollet towards downtown.

Playing around with.. mostly watercolors. Still learning. Had to add in some colored pencils, gouache and white pen because I didn't plan ahead properly and lack the skills to define edges consistently.
Also added some glow-in-the-dark acrylic over the top of it because I had some lying around.
PC was tied up with backing up work files so I putzed around with some watercolors in this mini sketchbook.
Everything was done entirely with low-grade art supplies that I got from the amazon vine. Heh
Thank you so so much, this was my favorite thing I've written in a while, I just love it, and @geneha.com went and made it a billion times better. He added so much and so much visual genius, I can't stand it.
I LOVE HIM EVEN IF HE EATS BABIES.
I'm also not sure the etiquette on tagging; if I'm supposed to tag everyone involved, or just the people reference. I dunno. I did the latter to not annoy too many people at once.
I'm not sure how many of you got a chance to pick it up, but I'm quite happy with how it turned out and consider myself fortunate that I got a chance to be involved.
