Cat dad and northern lad. Hillwalker. Probably “woke”. Sometime korfballer. Music, food and travel. And history and architecture. #NUFC North-eastern England. Like Reform? Passionate about flags? You’re going to hate me.

Funny isn’t it? Reform are all about like the Blitz spirit and being tough. Arguments about clipboards 😅😅

I’ve read this to myself and for some reason I can only hear it in Alan Partridge’s voice.

I think the Queen just met her and decided there was really no point to anything anymore.

We all make mistakes but it’s nice not to make them quite so often or so publicly.

It’s regrettable that there are so many people in the world who are capable and intelligent but lack the sort of self-certainty that comes with people who have no ability whatsoever.

Last year was my personal high water mark anyway. Saw us win something and no longer have to experience the taunts of Swansea/Coventry/Boro/Wigan fans that their teams had won trophies since we last did. I’m at peace now.

NUFC being out of the cup was sort of “baked in” and I’m ignoring football now until May. To the extent that I missed that Port Vale had beaten Sunderland.

On a serious note, it’s never nice to be stood up by someone even if your wealthy backers paid for the flights and accommodation.

Even if you ignore the environmental impact - and no one should - do Israel and US think that oil is just infinite?

Another reminder that relying on cars - ICE especially leaves households exposed.

Driving less helps, but investing in walking, cycling and reliable public transport cuts fuel use, saves money and helps shield people from volatile oil markets.

The Jimmy Carr story I always think of is when he was ruining someone’s gig years ago while workshopping his laugh to get presenting gigs & got told to stop from the stage because “I don’t come to your shows and laugh”

I remember reading somewhere that the fire-fighting infrastructure and the composition of buildings etc around Sauchiehall St (both essentially Victorian) was a contributing factor in that part of the City?

Tinderbox: The Bell launches a new map of Glasgow's many fires The propensity for so many buildings to catch fire has stoked conspiracy theories galore. Is there anything to them?

Why are there SO many fires destroying historical buildings in Glasgow? Tonight’s tragedy is just the latest.

@glasgowbell.bsky.social mapped them. ‘With every conflagration there are whispers that there’s slightly more to things than meets the eye’.

Keir Starmer and David Lammy are taking an extraordinarily dangerous gamble with our individual liberty This week, MPs will vote on the second reading of the Courts and Tribunals Bill. Don’t let the anodyne name fool you – this is one of the most revolutionary pieces of legislation in our…

Labour's core voters, on which its re-election entirely depends, are crystal clear about this: they absolutely hate its illiberal, intolerant, draconian, rightwards turn. Hence the total collapse in support. So how does the government respond? #SuicideMission🤦‍♂️

Yes. According to HES it’s a Category B listed building (1851). I’ve seen it suggested that the firefighting infrastructure in places like Sauchiehall St is really poor (hence smallish fires become big fires really easily). May be the same here?
