Can't tell you how much non-fiction books have saved me during this fascist chaos. Also fiction. Poetry too. Cosmology/physics books have been an escape for me since I was a kid. My dad loves paleontology books. Find your escape portal and refuel.

And look at what comes after it. Not only does it accept the supposed purpose of the raid without any evidence or doubt. It then purports to move to the "social" impact -but while the top of the paragraph uses the word "community", it says the impact won't be clear until spring planting!

So many of these articles about people being kidnapped from their communities are written as though they're about people caring about each other equally, and when you read them critically they're actually about exploitable labor. Or about

I've posted about this before but I just looked up this article for something I'm working on and I cannot deal with this - the quote, or the way it's presented without direct follow-up or context.
