It’s a known thing (even in queer circles tbh) where trans women get cast as somehow inherently predatory for their connection to an imagined cis-maleness but actual cis men are never tarred with that accusation. So yeah i think you’re onto something. We’re made to be the sin eaters for Gender

i'm still workshopping this but hear me out. the anti-trans backlash as a reactionary response to the me too movement. all of these ppl who were or might have called out by the me too movement all conveniently end up aligned with pushing things like the bathroom panic

Misogyny and ethnocentrism and Nationalism and the promise of power over the Lessers are the wages that young men are promised in lieu of actual wages---domain over a Household and Family seen as more valuable than a more-equitable social contract for more people.

That's the problem we gotta solve.

It sure does seem like reactionary politics and the loose coalitions of wealthy and influential people is oriented around securing the right of powerful men to exploit the abject and gender-marginalized without consequence, and selling this as a model for other men to aspire to and emulate...
