I did a combo of both, so I played Dark Souls while streaming Silksong cause of the dark vibes and then I could branch out to other soulslikes like Lies of P!
I might actually have some insights here. I got super lucky with the release of Silksong going from about 100 subs on YouTube to 1400 now. I'd say you have two choices when you start getting an audience.
1. Go with games that give off the same vibe (visually, emotionally, story wise)
