This is my peeve about so many cis white men in our culture, they absolutely have an unfortunate tendency to think that if anyone else can do something, particularly if the anyone else happens to be a woman, of color, LGBTQ, etc, then obviously whatever it is they're doing can't be all that hard.
As if he just opted out of either opera or ballet and could just pick either of them up at a whim and be any good at either of them. Little shit.
Yes, people can change when confronted with a situation they previously thought they would handle a certain way. That said, some people will ignore their needs & will give in to appease others.
I really hope Lindy isn't putting her needs last to keep an otherwise dead marriage going.
Harsh, but a question I'd like Lindy to consider with the assistance of a good therapist: is Lindy trying to convince herself that she's happy with the situation, that she needs to walk away from all of her personal boundaries & needs, because she's afraid of being alone?

It really is weird to see what you can find and where. I'm still trying to remember where the hell I picked up smoked turmeric at because I ran out and I can't find it again.
Sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised at what gets stocked, I was thrilled to find zaatar, just like I was giddy to get garam masala. It's nice to find the basics of world cuisine, even if it is just the basics.
It's hit and miss. I was able to get zaatar blend at Publix. Then again, I was pissed off the last time I was in there trying to get jerk blend, discovered they stock one brand, and it was sold out, yet I could find over two dozen variations of cajun blend seasoning. REALLY?!
Imagine you are a grown man. You grew up in a smaller community where you did not know that many people that were different from you. You also grew up being told that you were great as you are and are living in the greatest country. You were also told that as a boy you were better than girls. You heard every male in your life degrade girls, women, and anything feminine. You were told that if you played sports and or joined the military you would be the masculine ideal. Your mother supported all of this by deferring to your father and doing all the traditional things. You heard from every adult all kinds of bad things about people of color and indigenous people. Every negative stereotype was repeated to you over and over. You knew nothing about them except what you heard. You were told and shown that acting in any way feminine would get you bullied. You were told you would be great at everything. You were told by adult men like coaches to be tough and act manly and everything would work out. You did not do well in school because only nerds and girls studied and did well in school. You just got through school now you do a job that is hard and physically demanding. You still do not see or know that many different kinds of people and the only woman you may know is your wife. Now you see people of color and women gaining political power because of numbers and winning elections and LGBTQAI+ people existing in public and gaining respect and power. ALL of this contradicts everything you ever experienced and thought. You respond with hate from fear. You cannot accept that you and people like you are not in charge of everything when you have heard, from birth, that they are lesser than you. This is why you end up with violent hate-filled Trump supporters. This is not an excuse but an explanation. As adult men, they should be able to accept reality.
