Playing Rook runs is my favorite part of Marathon so far, being a filthy scavenger everyone wants dead is survival horror mode

a good dream is one where you and the dream agree that it’s time to wake up. that’s how victory feels in marathon. outside that, it captures the restless sweat of night where you can never be fully sure what just happened, but you know you need to go back to sleep
everything looks wrong, you’re surrounded by strangers, you can maybe help them, maybe not. you’re picking things up throughout scenery which serves functions you can’t understand. there’s a threat which, if it gets too close, will wake you. back to your body, back to the sobering light of economy
one of the things I love about marathon is it gives you zero time to familiarize yourself with anything. dream logic in a rational universe. you wake up in a new body, even your personality is unfamiliar. there’s a button somewhere you know you need to push but you’ll probably wake up before then.
