Moth Bear. hide your fish and your coats
hey to my followers, if you can, could you help out my friend Ahmed and his family? I have been in contact with him for nearly 3 years, he has a fundraiser for food and medicine until the crossings out of Gaza are opened to leave. I'd appreciate if you could share

If a little old lady wanders into a bar for various creatures and undead, but doesn't bother anyone, you simply serve her a drink
Inspired by Mrs Gammage in the Discworld novels
Before he was the monster at the centre of a labyrinth he was just a little brother.

James Bond should not be a woman. Or a man. Or nonbinary. James Bond should not be
lore drop. I have a little brother who's turning 8 soon, and he's requested a birthday invitation card with neanderthals and mammoths. I'll post it here once it's done, if he agrees, and his reference sketches if he permits.
Two kinds of early humans.
I wanted to draw the Sapiens and Neanderthal couple again
first page of a comic. a small black girl dressed in simple fur clothing and with yellow ochre on her face and hair sits by a bush and observes a little caterpillar. There are mountains in the background and a few more bushes. She looks up as a woman approaches, smiling slightly. that woman has neanderthal features, her fave is broad with a large nose, her forehead very low. she has brown skin and short brown hair
Page 2. The woman grasps the girl's hand and places bright red berries into her palm. the girl is excited and the woman grins at her before moving away, to were others stand, two black adults, one carrying a baby on her back, and another neanderthal. the girl eats the berries and watched her go. three text bubbles show the girl's thoughts. "when we travel we sometimes meet other groups, and sometimes we meet people who look different from anyone else I know. They speak funny, I've only learned a few words they say, and they don't know all of our words either. The adults trade with them for tools and fur, they tell us if they saw herds in passing and we tell them if we saw fruit."
page 3 in the first panel the neanderthal woman and a black man with tied back hair and a beard are facing each other. around them the text says "they are shorter than even grandma and are really strong, stronger than papa I think. Once I got to hold one of their spears, the tip was attached to the wood with some black sticky stuff." another panel shows a black homo sapiens man with a yellow headband and a brown neanderthal woman with flowers in her hair, they are smiling at each other. "Mama told me one of them went with her uncle and his family, but I never met them." The next panel shows the woman with the berries walking off towards the mountains, following a few other stocky neanderthals. the little girl is holding an adult's hand as she watches them go with a smile, her parent leading her in another direction
page 4 it is snowing and the sky is grey. an old woman dressed in furs and a heavy cloak holds out her hand to catch snowflakes. it is the little girl from the previous pages, now with grey hair but the same kind of ochre paint on her face. the next panel shows her walking with a stick, around her are others, including children, all dressed in similar furs carrying bows or spears, someone is dragging a sledge. There is snow everywhere, covering the landscape and distant mountains. a wolf or dog walks with them. the old woman is thinking "I haven't seen them since I was a small child. i often wonder where they went"
For a brief moment in time humans weren't alone on this planet. I do wonder if our ancestors took note when Neanderthals disappeared, or if they ever wondered where these people went

ink and watercolour illustration of a dog dressed as a knight riding a pig instead of a horse. the dog is white with brown spots, it's wearing clashing green blue and orange in the style of a Landsknecht, with a plumed hat. it's holding a lande and has one paw on its hip. the pig is very fat, tan with brown spots. it has a saddle and reigns which are turquoise with yellow detailing

Doesn’t matter if there’s a heatwave or snowfall. You will always see both someone in a heavy coat and in shorts with flip flops on any given street
It’s like getting a haircut. I know people who collected the shed fur of their dogs and had scarves made of it
Watercolour illustration of a sheep in clothes, with a lamb on her knee. The sheep is dressed in a skirt, cap, and is wearing a red shawl. She is sitting on a small stool, and the lamb on her lap is wearing a green dress. The lamb is reading out of a book, while the sheep is plucking at the lamb’s wool to spin with a handheld spindle
Spinning yarn with mama
A four panel comic of a cartoon fox and a sheep. The fox is standing behind a shop counter and is wearing a dark blue apron, the sheep is grey and white. In the first panel the sheep is walking up to the counter and the fox is saying “Good morning!” With a smile the second panel is a close up on the Fox’ head, it is saying “what can I do f-“. At the edge of the panel the sheep’s hoof is touching a blue-ish panel with words on it, they are cut off. The third panel is the fox looking shocked while the sheep smiles expectantly. A panel of transparent material is hovering in front of the fox, with all caps “skip dialogue” written on it. In the final panel the fox is leaning past the transparent panel which the sheep is pushing. The fox is yelling “hey!”
You expect a lot of rude behaviour working with customers, but being treated like you’re an NPCs is surprising
Watercolour illustration of people walking dogs. On top of the image it says “opposites attract”. The first illustration is of a tan Great Dane with a red collar. It is being walked by a small old lady in a purple coat, grey skirt, and red hat. She is holding the leash and smiling, the dog is taller than her. The second illustration is a broadly build balding man in a blue track suit and wearing sandals. He is walking a very small white and brown terrier, that doesn’t reach his knee
Usually they say dogs and owners are the same. Sometimes apparently not so much

A four panel comic of cartoon animals. In the first a fox is sitting curled up under a blanket, holding a remote and saying “lets watch some kind of competition TV show. I love seeing creative people display their skills!” Second panel is a beaver speaking excitedly, there is a slightly rounded black border around the panel, like an old fashioned tv set. The beaver is saying “winning would really mean a lot, of course. But i mostly want the price money since it’s hard to make a living with this.” Third panel is like the second, now the beaver is looking at the viewer with a stressed expression and saying “this is my only chance at happiness and a career. Between school debts and keeping myself and my family alive this price money is my last hope. If I don’t win I have to give up my dreams. Ha ha” Fourth panel is the fox, under a blanket and holding a knitting project. It looks devastated and sad
Competition shows increasingly feel like people fighting for their life, not to show off their skills and craft
A watercolour and colour pencil illustration. In the background a bright green pea pod is lying on the ground, slightly open. Instead of peas two little yellow chicks are nestled inside it, with a space between them. Another chick is standing slightly in front of them, bent towards the ground where a few dots indicate seeds it could peck at
Chick Peas
Four panel comic, featuring a red fox, a grey cat, and a flying fox Panel 1: Cat: “who are you talking to there?” Fox, holding a phone: “my distant relative in Australia” Panel 2: Fox, speaking from a phone: “say hi to cat!” The face of a fox, upside down: “hi” Panel 3: Cat: “don’t you think it’s a dumb stereotype to draw Australians that way?” Fox: “huh?” Panel 4: Zoomed out view on the upside down fox, revealing that it’s a flying fox so it’s upside down because of this, not because of a joke about Australians being upside down Flying fox: “like what?”
Some things, like foxes, really are upside down in Australia
I’m posting comics and other stuff as well! If it’s not fox comics it’s mostly work in progress things
Just a few days of bad bed time and you suffer for weeks!
Digital comic of a small brown bat on a dark background, each of the four panels have white writing Panel 1: South east asia has a type if bat with unusual behaviour Panel 2 (the bat is flying) The Hardwicke’s Woolly Bat has a mutualistic relationship with pitcher plants Panel 3 (the bat is approaching a pitcher plant) For the bat the pitcher plant is a nice safe space to sleep in. They are too big to slip down too deep and touch digestive fluids Panel 4 (the bat sits inside the plant) The plant? Gets food fertiliser directly from the source (poop)
Woolly Bats…
I just think they’re really neat
Three panels of a comic In the first panel a pigeon is asking an annoyed looking cat “what’s with fox today?” The second panel shows a fox in the distance, hunched over with fur bristling. A speech bubble says “sleep deprived…” Third panel shows the fox in a blurred purple and green cloud, wide eyed and disoriented. Hard to read words, doodles, and sound effects surround it without much cohesion. The fox is overwhelmed and has thoughts going nowhere before fading away
You ever miss one proper night’s sleep and suddenly you’re in the dungeon dimension
A comic in two panels. The first is solid black with blurred dancing lights. The words say “a will-o’-the-wisp”? The second panel is a dark grey, showing a person in a big jacket and a dog on a lead. The dog has a glowing lit up collar, the words say “no! A shiny dog!”
It’s the season of seeing strange dancing lights in the darkness and realising a dog is coming towards you
A four panel comic of foxes, one slightly larger and a paler orange First panel, the small fox has a speech bubble “people in my family don’t really talk about emotions or affection. I should do it more Second panel, small fox: “hey mum! I love you, give my love to the others too!” Third panel, larger fox is looking at the smaller in surprise Fourth panel, smaller fox looks annoyed, larger fox looks agitated and is speaking: “oh no! What happened? Are you alright!?”
The entire family can’t express emotions
I wish the tiniest change in emotions wasn’t causing a nuclear meltdown in my brain, but it seems we can’t have everything in life

A painting of a cat in front of a yellow background. The cat is green and has darker green wavy lines on it, looking like a cactus. There are needles all over the cat, and on the end of it’s tail there is a pink and white cactus flower
