I shouldn't say that about my parents, My dad was no help. My mom did help me at least when I had whittled down my choices.
I actually don't know how anyone makes this kind of decision for themselves at age 17 or 18. I think that many of us probably should have had more input from adults we trusted. My school barely had a guidance counselor [he was part time & not helpful]. My parents were no help, lol.
