Yes that hat was a bit of a giveaway:)

So was there no error? Were the sources impeccable? Were they right all along? Because if so, how can the times in conscience use this as the main selling point for serialisation of its former royal editorβs book?
And if not, have I missed gallagherβs mea culpa?
And in May 2016, the doubling down after Ipso ruling that included a demand for front-page coverage
Well fancy that!

Top work here from Mic
i've tried messaging on here, but it's not been opened. i have ongoing cases, but you can't initiate messages, only read and reply to their brush-offs. the chatline is a bot.
@bsky.app
Does anyone have half an idea of how the **** to get through to @ryanairofficial.bsky.social . None of the links on the website work and a complaints tracker email address seems to have been mothballed.
How free speech and cancel culture work:
If you share my world view, you can say anything and the woke mob should go hang.
If you say something that offends me, you should be silenced and those who fail to gag you should lose their jobs.
Great piece from Mic on the Bob Vylan hypocrisy
Priceless
Any thoughts on what should go in here?
But, suddenly, today his words are pure gold, complete sense. He's absolutely right about everything.
Any ideas why that should be?
Well, here's a thing. For years, the Mail has been bemoaning the incompetence of Bank of England governor Andrew Bailey. His word is worthless. His opinions dodgy. His strategy hopeless.
Here's a small selection from hundreds of articles from 2022-23 - when Truss was right and everyone else wrong /1
This is so true and so scary. Iβve been saying this for years, tho less eloquently.
Journalism isnβt just dying. Itβs being murdered by the businesses built on it. Infanticide

have a nice day.
Anyway, Ms desperate-for-attention says we need to fix the media. Strangely her list of targets, the BBC, the FT, the Times, the Guardian, doesn't include the Daily Mail.
I just can't quite work out why...
Now here's a little taste of some of Norfolk's work (just the "big show" stuff) from that day over the following four years - during three of which, Ms Truss was undersecretary of state for childcare and education. Her boss actually initiated an inquiry. But she's probably forgotten that.

Why did i pick up on that January 5 tweet and not the inflammatory ones about Jess Phillips or Starmer being complicit?
Because January 5 happened to be the 14th anniversary of the first Times splash on the subject. The Andrew Norfolk story that blew the whole scandal wide open.
(7)
Oh, and here's the Times report of that same case *at the time*, a mere 12 years ago.
The Times, one of those papers that failed us on grooming gangs and the like
(6)
Anyway, as I was saying. Papers like the Times have failed us in a massive way.
Here is Elon Musk on January 5 this year discovering the transcript of a trial of one of the grooming gangs.
He's been delving, you see. Because someone had to.
(5)
(Now don't go distracting me with "free speech" and how you can't have a free society without free speech yet you need to "fix" the media. What about their free speech?)
(4)
As, I say, thank heavens for Elon. He's been bringing to the world's attention things that papers "like the Times" have failed us on. (3/)
Here she is on grooming gangs. (2/)
A thread:
Well this is quite the thing. Ms Truss says that British media outlets must be "fixed".
It's a massive problem, she says, because they are focused on the wrong issues, @theguardian.com's Daniel Boffey reports.
And of course #ElonMusk is right and could save us from ourselves.
(1/?)
In case there were any remaining doubts about the muskrat and his poisonous platform
Ally doesnβt seem to be on hereβ¦this was on Twitter.
Sorry to send you there. But heβs hit mail on head with this thread.
Heaven knows how to migrate 6k followers over here, not to mention the people we followed there and would like to see here

And where will we keep all those bins?
But reducing grey bin waste (whether to landfill or loathed incinerator) is a laudable ambition.
The council (Tory, remember) has been at forefront of recycling and environmentally friendly policies for many years.
Not all blues are anti-green climate deniers
Which is not to say the idea is right or wrong.
But given that the councilβs published refuse collection calendar and website differ, so that virtually our entire village put out recycling/green bin/food bin a day early last night, the opportunities for confusion seem infinite.
(5/)
This is not far from Sunakβs vision of a Labour nightmare - and if it were a Labour city making such a move it would be the Mail splash for days.
(4/)
Well hereβs the new consultation document from Conservative-controlled Braintree Council.
Ok, not seven bins. But six.
And general waste collections every three weeks.
