It's often said Joan of Arc was kept in captivity in the remaining keep of Philip Augustus' chäteau in #Rouen. She wasn't, though she was threatened with torture there.She was actually kept in what is now an optometrist's office (plaque) on rue Jeanne d'Arc. You can go inside and see the 1st level.

In the evening, we arrived in Rouen, and it’s a festive dream! The magnificent Rouen Cathedral stole the show, its spires glowing beautifully in the evening light. Just steps away, the Christmas market was alive with festive cheer. Staying overnight means we have more time to soak it all in! 🎅✨
