Discover more about the exhibition www.lancaster.ac.uk/lec/research...
Thanks to @britishecologicalsociety.org and @lancasteruni.bsky.social for funding the exhibition.
Exhibition arranged by Prof Carly Stevens of Limestone Pavements Partnership based at @sci-tech-lancaster.bsky.social.
A collage of photos showing an photographic exhibition on display in the Westmorland and Furness Council's Grange-over-Sands library, including a shot showing a visitor reading the exhibition and another including Ali's evaluation data sheet. The fifth photo shows a sunny day looking over the sands of Morecambe Bay from The Promenade of Grange-over-Sands towards Arnside and Lancaster
Thank you Grange-over-Sands librarians Jane and Lisa and library users for my lovely couple of days evaluating the success of Limestone Pavements Partnership's "Limestone: Life Between the Cracks" exhibition featuring photos by Oana BakoviΔ.

Screenshot of Ali's post on X (Twitter) 33minutes ago. Reads: "Nail in the coffin. Time to go! I stopped being an active part of X platform when it became a place for attack not discovery. I refuse to have any association with a platform that permits the way Grok is being used. #Goodbye! Find me on my Bluesky profile"
It's time.

Integrating animal health into a regenerative system is about more than reducing inputs β it's about building a resilient ecosystem.

'In reading and writing about research that had nothing to do with my own, I felt curious, enlightened, and empowered... The work fed the side of me that, as my mom would say, was always interested in βway too many things.β'
Exactly why I moved from research to #scicomm too @liuswrites.bsky.social!
I can't be at the conference, so it would be great to get a little Bluesky summary of your talk afterwards @laurapenny.bsky.social?
And updates on any other #DungBeetle #ecology content I'm missing out on!
Breakfast-time reading that will bring two interests together: #PublicEngagement and Long-Term Ecological Research #LTER!

Looking forward to seeing this photo exhibition "Limestone: Life Between the Cracks" in the local libraries of South Cumbria close to the beautiful locations where the photos were taken! πΏ
Thanks for the opportunity to help produce the exhibition @limestonepavements.bsky.social!

Very frightening if this is true.
Terrifying that I won't be very surprised if it is.
I'm not sure what it says about me that I could immediately recognise the Park Grass experiment from just the thumbnail of this @scishow.bsky.social video!

Sharing STEM stories (science, technology, engineering and maths) with people is such a joy! π
It's a privilege to be part of the Edinburgh Science events development team... and to moonlight as one of our science communicators at my third Edinburgh Science Festival opening party!

I've got a lot of work to do today.
Feels like a classic disco tunes sort of day.
Wow. ππ‘
Ali, wearing a dark green Edinburgh Science branded tshirt, stands grinning beside a life-sized model of a brown and white Ayrshire dairy cow, with the glass roof of an exhibition gallery in view behind her
I'm fascinated by how engineers are improving sustainablity and welfare in #food by 'making the invisible visible' to producers.
π Thanks @cynthianaydani.bsky.social, Dave Scott, Ken Loades, Chris Jones, Susannah Bolton and Ross Robertson for teaching me, and to Elsie the cow of course π! #SciComm
Highlight of 2024: collaborating with experts to develop Future Farming, showing the potential of #engineering careers in #agriculture and #aquaculture to secondary school students, thanks to @raeng.org.uk.

π Limestone Quarries & Wild Bees
A study from @britishecolsoc.bsky.social finds abandoned quarries can be vital habitats for 114 bee species, including 35 endangered ones, when managed well. Connectivity & floral diversity are key.

Blue sky is the 'nice app' where white people make starter packs about their interest or research area but somehow do not notice that these lists are all white and then further do not engage when this pointed out. But you are not racist, right?

Very poignant thread from @be-sciencey.bsky.social. Would be great for the #SciComm community over here to better than it's ever been elsewhere. I'm mostly here to discover and learn instead of share, but would be interested to follow this conversation. Thanks for getting it started Helen!
