i think hearing about famous people or athletes being charged with things is actually a good time to practice reminding ourselves that cops lie all the time and charges β guilt

Full offense but this is why the epstein files are so triggering to victims.
"Release the files" is just words to yall.
5 seconds later you'll turn around and say a woman who has chosen to play defense for her husband in them for years was "right about everything"
And not even out of love.
Oic, you mean Trump I killed it, not Trump II.
I do not expect Trump's actions to improve the situation, but was it though? Massive protests that might've brought down a regime with less committed security forces were met with massacres. And the Iranian constitution provides for a system where a religious oligarchy limits voters' choices.
Iβve been trying to describe my personal opinion on the conflict in I/P and yep itβs basically this
I have one coworker who finally made it into the office after 2pm.
Broke: stop anthropomorphizing LLMs
Woke: name LLMs after women to make men more skeptical of their outputs
Hot take: we should actually anthropomorphize LLMs *more*, if only so people stop treating them as god-oracles. Treat it like some rando contractor you found online.
this whole thing is incredibly insulting to everyone's intelligence, but i'll say, from experience, that if you get a tattoo which might have even the slightest hint of a hidden meaning, every rando who thinks they know anything about tattoos is going to mention something to you about it
I lived in Korea for 9 months one time and still strongly feel Korea is right in the Korea-Japan beef.
The real question is why MEPS didn't notice the glaringly large Nazi tattoo on his chest when he enlisted in the National Guard. The Guard also prohibited extremist tattoos at that time and it should have absolutely been caught when he went to reenlist.
There's a lot here. But the logical flaw is that the 2007 Marine Corps tattoo policy change that grandfathered in currently serving Marines would not have applied to Platner once he left active duty and then tried to come back. He would have been subject to the new reg barring forearm tattoos.
This is not really shade on anyone specific.
It is generalized shade on everyone who thinks they have any idea what they're talking about.
I left philosophy grad school in part because I became convinced that nobody has any idea what they're talking about re: the "big questions" of philsophy.
Now with LLMs the fact that no one has any idea what they're talking about is suddenly an acute problem.
What are "them"? And define "built".
I do not understand why you think this argument is a slam-dunk. Or even what you think the relevant "evolved structures" are, beyond something that I guess you think an LLMs couldn't possibly have (why not?).
Also not really obvious what you do with that. Most people eat meat. I try to avoid even milk and eggs but just accidentally bought some chips with "contains milk products" on the labelβc'est la vie. And I don't worry about honey in spite of uncertainty about whether honeybees are conscious.
The people at Anthropic 100% actually believe that Claude might be conscious, and have been worrying about what they hell they do with that for a long time.
I realize some people think only biological creatures can be conscious, but that seems foolish to hold strongly. Why would it be so?
I do think βGraham Platner was a bartender who personally served some DC pundits and reporters and was known to themβ is a pretty big part of the skeleton key to unlocking how he got so much cash and media attention so fast and why theyβre so determined to stay all in on him now
Against Claudeβs advice, by the way
I worry the passing of the WWII generation has broken the seals keeping Nazis out of politics... but I also wonder how much of it is just Musk owning Twitter. I think we should try throwing him in prison for life, expropriating all his wealth, and seeing what happens.
Yeah, I've heard suggestions that people whose ancestors survived the Black Death may be at greater risk of autoimmune diseases.
TBF whether LLMs have panic attacks is in part a product of how they're trained. Gemini is infamous for having panic attacks over basically anything.

The "can't be a Nazi without starting a world war" was always nonsense - Hitler didn't start WW2 until he was 6 years in power - but I guess even that box would have to be checked sooner or later.
Clearly a child soldier if he looks that small next to a 37mm gun.
Yes, the point is, "is such-and-such war legal?" is not a well-formed question. "Was the Falklands War legal?" well are you talking about what the UK did or what Argentina did?
It depends on whose point of view you take. From one point of view, Saddam's invasion of Kuwait was illegal under the UN charter. From another, Ukraine defending itself against Russian aggression is legal under the UN charter.
