I was very diplomatic, lol. Once I recovered and realized he was serious, I pointed out that things like that don’t happen over night. I’m sure his news sources are very reliable! It was entertaining at least!

lol! I find it hilarious that these people just assume everyone believes what they do. As for retention, I’m in a retail tax office and the work is done. I’ll charge him appropriately and wait for him to realize the IRS is here to stay!

He then told me Trump’s first 100 days were spectacular and he has no doubt that Trump will do away with the IRS and we will not have to “deal with this stuff” ever again.

#TaxSky I had a client come to me today. Back in October we were going to file his 2022 and 2023 returns. He had ignored all my calls before October 15, 2024. He told me today that He heard Trump had dissolved the #IRS and he didn’t need to file anymore. But then he got a letter. I was stunned.

Agree, unfortunately there is little adjustment for cost of living/inflation, other than standard deduction (& exemptions pre- TCJA!). Educator deduction stayed at $250 for the first 15 years of my career before a slight $50 increase! My teacher daughter spent that first weekend she had a job!

Great call! Good luck in the half! I run every day of tax season but maxed at about 3-4 miles a day. I’d love to do the Colfax Marathon in May here in Denver, but I just don’t think I could get at top conditioning time. Post how it goes, might change my mind!
