Yup, agree completely there as well. Rather gamble on the guy who has succeeded before adjusting to the higher level.

This is a valid question and one I asked. What I've been told is that the rate of down transfers has declined b/c there is more NIL money available to be the 10th man at a power-conference program than a starter at a mid.

Are there exceptions? Yes. But they're mostly unusually deep-pocketed mids.
