And I would have been happy with them trading more at the deadline for a rostered player
He was near the top of my forward wish list for the Sabres, even with his age. Could have filled the gap I assume Tuch will leave behind for a year or two. Colorado’s going to be TOUGH
Shame. Who knows if he would have made an impact this year, but hopefully he’s right back next year. I’ve been optimistic about him
They’ve needed a legit receiving threat since Diggs left, I wouldn’t have wanted them to roll the dice and see if somebody hit. If they still want to take a WR in the third; I’m fine with it
It could be argued there’s 31 better receivers in the league, but with this roster he’s definitely their number 1
I think he’s pretty good at a lot of things. Comparable stats to Diggs when he was traded to the Bills, just a couple years older. I’d expect at least 1,000 yards and 7 or 8 tds out of him this year, hopefully the ceiling is higher
I’m fine with it. The guy we’re long overdue for a Diggs replacement, and with the late round pick and a 5th coming back it’s close to a 3rd in draft capital given up
Sad to see, he’s been integral to their defense for years, and fun to watch.
Small pieces, but I think exactly what we needed. Faceoffs, grit, defensive depth. I wouldn’t have minded a big splash up front, but now we’ll see what this team can do on the playoffs on their own merits. The way they’ve been playing, they should be dangerous
Id like to see Greenway back for the playoffs too
I just didn’t see a space for Rosen anytime soon. There as soon as many prospects ahead of him, like Helenius, Kulich, Ostlund etc. and the youngest roster in the nhl, he was probably never getting another real shot here
They lost nothing off the roster in return for some playoff depth/grit, I’m ok with a slight overpay if they want to try to make some playoff noise this year
Size is no linger an issue for this team, but added toughness won’t hurt. Out of the list, Greenway was the only one that played big most of the time and he’s been out the better part of the past 2 seasons. It would be nice to get him back for the playoffs

I don't mind playing the short game here, as their NHL roster would be stacked for the next couple of years. They have a few prospects and can add more.

Crazy how it’s gotten to this point, even with their few losses in this stretch giving up a last minute lead to Tampa and losing in OT. If it wasn’t for that 30 seconds they’d already be in first in the conference right now
Moneypuck has them at 90% to make it, baring a total collapse they should cruise in at this point
I assume if they work it out, Tuch’s gone and Thomas is the replacement just based on cap restraints
