This makes me want to visualize my own rework

I always imagined a version of the down special that does something different depending on when sonic does the move.
For example if sonic does the special on the ground, he charges the spindash, while in the air he charges the drop dash, and while running he does the roll, which can be cancelled

Im not saying that spinning and rolling is wrong, im just saying that having two specials be the exact same thing sucks : (

The roll and spindash could be such a fun move but it's essentially just wario's bike that you can't jump cancel out unless you use spindash 2

Sonic has so little references to his source material it's genuinely so saddening, all he does is roll and spin and not even in an interesting way
