If you would like to join @tcvnational.bsky.social and take part in this exciting conservation project to plant a new hedge along a section of the Shropshire Union Canal in Blacon, Chester, please check out the poster below.
@cprecountryside.bsky.social hope to plant 50% more hedgerow by 2050
Great to wake up to a good news story about the Countess of Chester Hospital .. I've benefited from the expertise within the Endoscopy Unit a few times and cannot praise them enough.

I always look forward to this point in the year when the Blackthorn flowers begin to burst open from their buds lighting up the hedgerows. The promise of Spring and a sign that the natural world is wakening up.
Inspired by the litter heroes who pick up in the #CountessofChesterCountryPark I've been doing what I describe as Postcode litter picks. If you have a sense of 'place' in where you live it's actually very therapeutic and quite good fun. Most interesting thing today .. a pair of underpants ๐ค.
Last Friday my @tcvnational.bsky.social #GreenGym team in the #CountessofChesterCountryPark rebuilt a fallen down post & wire fence, planted hedging whips in a large gap and put in a diagonal stay to repair a strainer post. TCV volunteers are the 'heroes' who look after the site.
Thank you, just spotted it.
Thank you.
Thank you
The great news is that brother was found in Kelsall just before 10pm (3ยฐC) and is now safely home. Thank you so much to everyone who had expressed concern, shared and in many cases searched .. so much appreciated.
This is what he was wearing, thank you.

The Times, 30th January 2026: "All 2.4m of Britainโs creative workers are at risk โ and we know why. A new report into the impact of AI on the creative sector makes for apocalyptic reading. The government must act now." Source: https://archive.is/hvRv2
"The UK creative industries โ which contributed ยฃ125 billion to the economy in 2024 and supported 2.4 million jobs โ are being destroyed by an AI sector that, whatever its long-term potential, contributed just ยฃ11 billion in the same year and supported only 85,000 jobs."

Utterly damning report from Office for Environmental Protection - the Govtโs not only missing its targets to protect wildlife in England, itโs also failing on *almost all* environmental measures - and in some cases actively destroying the natural world through its obsession with growth at all costs
The frightening thing is that, based on what this guy is currently doing, he may well try this. God help us all.

"The explicit acceptance of the view that the world does not exist for man alone can be fairly regarded as one of the greatest revolutions in modern Western thought."

Indeed .. it was a real catch up.

With #Halloween & bonfire night fast approaching, we're urging anyone who's building bonfires to only do so on the day they are to be lit & to check them carefully before striking that match!
These steps can help save #hedgehogs & other wildlife from appalling suffering.

The map seems to have missed out the Wirral? I've lived in Cheshire most of my life and I call them .. wait for it .. woodlice!
