Advice | Faculty Motivation in a Uniquely Demotivating Time
Itβs unreasonable to expect professors to hit hurdle after hurdle and still stay in the race. Institutions are going to have to clear some obstacles.
I really appreciated this article by @drkevinrmcclure.com on faculty motivation and its connections to self-determination theory. It got me thinking about how to help faculty feel that their work is valued and meaningful. When traditional rewards are threatened, leaders need to support autonomy.
