I think AI is important to understand and can be useful. BUT at the same time it is overhyped and underwhelming when you use it daily.

I know this feels relatively recent, but I have personally seen this trending in this direction for the past 15-20 years. It started with slow changes to expectations and requests by students but has compounded over time to where we are today.
