I started writing this without a plan tbh. I need to think about how their paths will cross in the next few days.

Also, maybe I will add a pinch of jealousy (XL thinking that HC is taken because he's with someone [HX]). And vice versa, because XL is with SQX.

Hualian in Valentine's Day in a modern AU. They each have presents behind their backs and smiles on their faces. XL's holding a small bouquet of flowers and a bag of burnt cookies while HC holds a heart-shaped box of chocolates and a very large bouquet. A red string connects the two of them.

I finally finished! I tweaked a few spots since I posted the WIP, but I enjoyed putting a modern twist on #Hualian. My favorite part was XL's bag of burnt cookies 🤣

Fun fact, originally I wanted HC at the front door with thousands of flowers behind him as his V-day gift~ 😂🩷

(We can assume that Xie Lian still lives with his parents [and Qi Rong] or that Qi Rong is a minor and Xie Lian is taking care of him).

(presumably Hua Cheng is older than Xie Lian for the sake of the plot), but Xie Lian's cousin - Qi Rong - also developed some kind of attraction to Hua Cheng.

The fact that Xie Lian and Qi Rong live together doesn't make things easier because Hua Cheng often visits Xie Lian+

So... I just had a thought I'd like to expand on. I'm sure you are familiar with the trope of two people being together and that one sibling meddling in their relationship.

This would be a Xie Lian right after the novel downfall of Xianle... so maybe he wouldn't be so much OOC 😂😅 Still young (though a little bit older than 17 lmao), and still naive.

(even if he made that choice for Hua Cheng's own good~ or at least he thought so lol)

But I was thinking if this whole matter didn't make Xie Lian a little bit OOC. Because making such an important decision without Hua Cheng (and ending their relationship) made him quite selfish, no?
