I do wish the original statement had included transphobia because that is something that is so often overlooked in general, and especially since someone in the cast has experienced it personally. But nobody's perfect; they're doing their best and I seriously doubt it was a deliberate omission.
You totally should do that! I mean, it might seem a little snarky or passive aggressive, but not nearly as upsetting as not remembering that about your child for decades. You shouldn't have to do it, but if it would forestall any future disagreements it might be worth it.
