Mochi was very active and social tonight despite being man handled by the vet yesterday XD Makes me happy she's already getting use to me🧡

Just a big relief and a bit of a confidence boost, no matter how much I research I'm always worried that certain behaviors means "they must be sick!" or I'm doing things totally wrong x3 now I can chill and just enjoy my new lizard :3

Brought Mochi to the vet for the first time. Issue ended up just being a little bit of stuck shed, which I feel a little embarrassed about but vet was really nice and was very happy with my care and her general condition(after seeing apparently 3 sickly and not well cared for reptiles today x.x)

I'm bad and don't consider my art stuff important enough so its for emergency pet care and I'll feel too guilty if I use it for my art orz

with that said I love my little gecko, she's going no where. I have all the stuff and her already. I'm just annoyed that life likes to throw things at me after I quadruple checked to make sure I finances are fine and I don't need to save for something important.
I do have a (tiny)savings, but umm

thought I had more time and I was panning on simply upgrading :'3
this is why I sometimes get in a pattern of hoarding money, waiting for something bad to happen. It never happens, then I think its okay, spend the money, then boom someones sick, car needs repair, need to buy expensive thing for work

I want to like rice so bad but the texture is so yucky. I can't get past the texture at all ;n; the only rice that I like texture wise is whatever restaurants do with the rice they use in sushi. That rice is so good and soft, other rice feels so yucky like undercooked noodles😭

For ppl who aren't aware:
Old temperate forests are insanely rare nowadays and extremely important ecosystems lost forever once cut.
They're not just "old trees" but intricate networks of trees, fungi and all kinds of living creatures.
You CANNOT replant this!! Once it's gone it's lost FOREVER!!!

Eventually I would like to have the energy to cook and prep meals ahead of time, but getting the energy to make it(and more unimportantly clean up) and deciding what I want to eat for like a week is hard x.x

I feel like we're wasting so much money on these frozen meals but sometimes its the only thing that gets me to eat a decent lunch and I've been feeling much better in the after noon too :'D

Did you know that the bees that need saving are NOT honeybees?

Honeybees are the dairy cows of bees. People brought them over from Europe to make us honey.

The problem with honeybees, esp in resource-limited ecosystems (like hey! cities!) is that they compete with our native bees for food.

I also grew up in that era, seeing someones face is not important to me at all and actually kinda scary how normalized and almost required or expected it is now a days ngl😅you don't need to know human me, creature me is way cooler trust me.

just became aware of this--the regime wants to clear-cut massive chunks of Oregon's old growth forests in the name of timber production.
