Happy Valentine's Day!

Jesus is strong, good, kind, and trustworthy. Francophile. Fan of Weird Al, the U.S. Constitution, and dolce far niente. "Be curious, not judgmental." Ex-GOP, politically homeless. Pastor, but not the angry, faux-macho kind.
Happy Valentine's Day!
So a CBS Evening News reporter actually did a pretty solid breakdown of the ICE murder video, talking to a former agent who details all the ways Ross messed up. And yet: It didnβt air on the actual show tonight. CBS did post it to YouTubeβand it has nearly 800k views already youtu.be/6ywLEESFDu0?...
He will always be what he is, which is terrible punishment in itself. My wishing him ill won't make things worse for him.
And I remember that he *wants* more angry, empty, vengeful people. By refusing to become like him, I am loving myself and indirectly beating him.
Still, easier said than done.
"He hates the people I hate"
It's genuinely hard to understand the mindset that says, "We don't want our kids watching Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers."
It's truly amazing how every week the President sets a new low for vengeful, paranoid narcissism and we just kind of accept it. The man is obviously and profoundly unwell.
I know people are trying to be polite, but I once again beg my fellow Midwesterners - please, please just follow the rules of the road.
Don't wave people ahead of you. Don't wait for someone else to go when it's your turn. Just. Go.
(I think all the roundabouts are making me more impatient)
Ah, I hadn't made that connection. Thanks
She has a really good job voice, but she does sound like she's trying to do Billie Holiday.
People here in IN are pretty excited. All are welcome on the bandwagon
The article lays out how outrageously - even admittedly - partisan the process and the product are.
Indianapolis has a unified city-county government and is represented by one House seat; it would be split into 4 districts, one going down to the Kentucky border. π€¨

I'm sure there's serious opportunistic price gouging. Whether my trust is justified or not, I tend to assume that's less the case at Aldi - but who knows?
3/16! [(Half of 1/4, or 1/8) + (1/4 of 1/4, or 1/16)]
Even as one with some carpentry experience, this makes me long for the metric system.
Any dinner rolls left? That's all you need for a complete breakfast.
A bag of store brand chocolate chips from Aldi was less than $2 a year ago. I nearly gasped out loud when buying some this week and saw they are $3.75!
So much winning.
I understand. My wife's family are all Buckeyes; her grandpa was careful never to buy anything in MI. We lived in East Lansing for several years (Go Sparty!), but my teen years were in Oklahoma, where the OU-Texas rivalry is just as bitter and hate-filled (Hook 'em!).
Still better than actual war.
I don't think that's hot, it's totally accurate. Matt 5-7 and 13 are absolutely huge for seeing and tresuring the Kingdom ... well, really, all of Matthew. It's just a masterpiece showing the glorious, humble King and his beautiful Kingdom, and inviting us to have both.
Not just Nazism, it's also the historical argument for race-based chattel slavery.
This is where Popper's paradox of tolerance comes in. A functional tolerant society can't tolerate ideas that destroy tolerance. Miller's ugly ideas have no place in decent society.
Hahaha!
For Presbyterians, I prescribe a Psalm, a pipe, and an adult beverage of your choice. The scowl doesn't go away conpletely, but it does start to turn up at the corners.

Happy Thanksgiving!
I mean, really, immersion is just ultra-sprinkling, right? π
Oh, for sure. I wasn't trying to make a point, just acknowledging assumptions I'd made.
Also, Happy Thanksgiving!
I grew up in a sprinkling church and I always thought John did full immersion - based on the mention of his baptizing where there was much water, and association with the Essenes and the the parallel use of mikvahs for full-body cleansing.
Maybe he only sprinkled, though π€·ββοΈ
We can ask him one day!
I love 'bisquits' - I knew some older southern relatives and family friends who spelt it thataway
See also, Halloween.
Oh, to have the courage and faith of Michaiah when all of Ahab's prophets are telling him to offer pleasing flattery and the king himself threatens his life.
Lord, may your preachers not be court prophets to an unholy power. Regardless of the cost, may I be true to you and your kingdom.

Even worse - the servile acquiesence of the church to the state's unholy demands.
The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.
If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.
