New paper out on our record-breaking mantle peridotite hole on the Atlantic seafloor. This one is on hydrogen production and carbon compounds in ultramafic systems - essential for understanding subseafloor life!

Really upset and angry with my alma mater @vuamsterdam.bsky.social for closing their Earth Sciences degree and firing the associated staff. It shows a profound lack of understanding of the role of the Earth Sciences in the green transition. And once people are gone the expertise is lost...

His project uses the #Masirah #ophiolite as a template, given that it formed at a true mid-ocean ridge. More papers to come!
