I don’t think #horseracing Twitter is totally dead yet, but enough people are reporting they’re seeing far fewer posts from people they follow. That’s got the potential to be damning.

I should be here more, and I wish more #horseracing people migrated over when BlueSky had legit momentum a few months back. Alas...
So if you block someone on the bird app, people you’ve blocked can see your stuff, but if you try to see theirs (IE, monitoring someone whose trolling goes into racist remarks or threats), you can’t.
Blocking now works the OPPOSITE way it should, and I really wish my audience was anywhere else.

Got my thumb stuck in a folding chair once. That was pretty dumb.
It is simultaneously encouraging and infuriating that I’m not actually completely surrounded by Nazis, just by dipshits.
This is an accurate synopsis of my experience with llms: It’s giving us first drafts of things (research, writing, etc)
Which is useful! Except companies clearly want those first drafts to be final products, which means the proliferation of work that’s anywhere from slightly wrong to extremely bad.
I probably needed a reminder to come here more.

For as nice as BlueSky is, and I enjoy it...nobody seems to engage, at least on the #sportsbetting side of things. #Horseracing / #racingsky is a bit better but still pretty quiet.
As bad as the Twitter/X experience (Xperience?) is, it's going to take a LOT to get people and brands to go elsewhere.
