I would have to look, but to my understanding it’s usually they tie the series to a gimmick for the console
Yeah I said it during the stream it’s not continuing the story of the 64 Trilogy but it’s a good game in its own right. It just got attacked for the console it was on and that it was a reboot for the franchise.
But the issue I had was Nintendo never built on this.

Oh I completely agree, it’s clear in Zero they tried to take bits of 64, Star Fox 1 and 2 and be like: “Here is your Star Fox game.”
I always felt Assault was the correct way to take the franchise and I think that there can be more to the SF Universe outside of Lylat
Star Fox on SNES was rebooted with Star Fox 64 and it was a system seller so Nintendo tried to do the same with Zero and flopped.
I think for me I would agree with you they should go from Assault. But to me what’s more important is having a dedicated developer and not hopping from one to another.
So Zero is supposed to be the franchise’s attempt to reboot.
Therefore we should have Adventures/Assault/Aparoid Invasion next, then Command/Anglar Blitz last.
You can take the next game and have the Saurian Crisis and Aparoid Invasion, then the Anglar Blitz.
That’s the Star Fox fan in me talking
