Anemone hepatica, more commonly known as liverwort, kidneywort, or pennywort. Found it on my afternoon walk today, hidden just beside the path. Happy Sunday! #bloomscrolling #sunday #weekend #flowers #walk

It’s been a while since I posted a garden book recommendation, so, here’s #7: This one focuses on current-day challenges (such as pollution and extreme weather), stocking the pantry and easing stress. Big recommend! #booksky #gardening #reading #noad

I only planted it last year; not sure yet how big it will get for us. Information I’ve found online goes from 20”x20” to a height of even 3’. Most sources lean toward the 20x20. It doubled about in size last year after planting. It’s not supposed to spread uncontrollably like some other euphorbias.

February was over in the mere blink of an eye. Here’s a look back at the garden throughout the month. Snow, frost, lots of seeds, indoor blooms, and outdoor buds..and a few sunny hours on the very last day that allowed for some first, real garden work this year. #bloomscrolling #gardening #february

Turns out, my own garden is making me a liar. After saying yesterday that winter aconites and snowdrops are still weeks away from us, I found these first few blooms today and others pushing ahead nearby. I squealed in delight when finding them. Spring is on its way! 🀩 #bloomscrolling #gardening

Euphorbia martinii 'Ascot Rainbow'β€”it’s been amazing to watch this little trooper bounce back from looking dead after each frost to being all plump and colorful again. Hardy to USDA zone 5! 🌈 #bloomscrolling #gardening #euphorbia #rainbow

Our (for now?) last batch of seed packets has arrived. A mixture of vines, annuals, and perennials. Can’t wait to try them out in the garden! All of these are new varieties (for me) to try. Very exciting. πŸ˜ƒ #bloomscrolling #gardening #seeds #annuals #perennials #vines

We had one very early one, just like this one, a few years ago. It made me sad to think that it wouldn’t live for long.

We started off with a foggy morning but once the sun came it it was a very lovely day. The snow is continuing to melt and on the south side of the house, I discovered the first few, curious bulbs poking out. I believe these might be Daffodil Tete-a-Tete. #bloomscrolling #flowers #bulbs #gardening

Our Paperwhites are bringing some much needed flowery joy to our kitchen. Every year I am surprised by their somewhat funky smell but they are forgiven for their early blooms. The garden is struggling out from being under snow and freezing temps for weeks. #bloomscrolling #flowers #spring #gardening

It’s always so much fun to try something new! I’ve had good success with mΓ’che and can only recommend! Even had it overwinter in the cold frame and it gave us greens to eat as soon as it warmed up just a bit in the spring. Will have to look up salsify! Thanks for sharing!

I thought the same thing when I looked at them. Someone is doing some good work there (at least hoping it’s not Ai)
