My favorite part? When we reach an educational milestone, we get to share it with the community through our tribal newspaper.

Our achievements are celebrated together, and our youth get to see whatโ€™s possible. Visibility matters.

The #ChoctawNation has long been a strong supporter of higher education and the pursuit of advanced degrees. In 2025 alone, the Nation awarded more than $13 million in educational support - a substantial investment in Native students and their futures.

Preprint!!!! This is the result of an ongoing collaboration between us and the genomics core to make genetics cheap and easy. A synergy between library prep and analytical approaches. This one hinges on recognizing 1. that DNA molecules are shaped by evolution and 2. we have friends everywhere.

Hey #PopGen #EEB #PUI friends! Do you have a cool paper demonstrating the power ๐Ÿ’ช of "modern" PopGen that would be exciting to upper-level undergrads? I feel like students leave the PopGen unit thinking it's some kind of dead science b/c we're limited to introducing simple models in Evol classes. ๐Ÿ˜ข

Just spoke to The Hill about how the dismantling of the NIH is impacting science in America. We still face a cliff of unfathomable heights, w easily 1000+ labs poised to close in the next year due to funding ending. A generation of young scientists lost because there is nowhere for them to train.
