ICE using the same ruse that Ted Bundy used to kidnap people should tell you something.
If people did this shit about anywhere other than the American South- like if someone said they grew up in Kenya and another person was like βIβm so sorryβ we would all quite rightly roast them. every place has good and bad qualities. the South isnβt evil
This person took this when they called the race
a big runoff last night, in New Orleans:
Calvin Duncan was exonerated after spending *28 years* in prison; he tried to get his own case records from the New Orleans city clerkβbut the office dragged its feet.
So Duncan ran to become city clerk himself, and yesterday ousted the incumbent.

This is petty wannabe dictator stuff. A cabinet secretary has no business unilaterally canceling visas because he doesn't like the visa holder's politics.
In addition to everything else that is wrong with this, why aren't these men wearing uniforms? They're dressed like they just came from the skateboard park and half seem to be concealing their faces. These are terror tactics, meant to inspire a penumbra of fear beyond those directly victimized.
Looking forward to reading it with my kiddos one day!
Iβd buy an @amandaknox.com kids book about injustice.

I believe in strong institutions and pragmatic strategy. Purity politics are destructive to progress. But our party leadership has become so anemic that we've been left with no choice but to call for Mr. Schumer's removal.
Join our call for him to step down: www.change.org/p/boycott-co...

@amyfettig.bsky.social prosecutors will build trust when they acknowledge mistakes, show there are mechanisms to deal with it, rather than pretending they are always right. #apls2025
@anthonyperillo.bsky.social addressing how psychology has been oppressive. We haven't earned trust. Cited @evanauguste.bsky.social at al. I recommend this paper to *everyone* pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36753574/

@anthonyperillo.bsky.social We need to center community members before we start a project. We need to hear what ppl need from them rather than relying on our assumptions about what is helpful. Psychologist want to help but need to realize that we might not know the best way to do that #apls2025
Todayβs plenary addressed the timely topic of trust in psych, law, science, & institutions. Panelists Amy Fettig, Joe Hamm, & Anthony Perillo shared their perspectives on why trust has eroded and how to build public trust in science & legal settings. Thank you to Tess Neal for moderating! #apls2025
