Today, the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO has released the Integrated Ocean Carbon Research (IOC‐R) Report, the most comprehensive assessment to date of the uncertainties shaping the ocean carbon sink. ICOS contributed to the report.

The ICOS Curve interactive tool shows #CO2 levels and trends accurate to the previous month. Updated daily, it pulls in observation data on carbon dioxide from 38 ICOS Atmosphere stations in the Northern Hemisphere.

ICOS celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2025, but some of our stations have been measuring greenhouse gases for decades before this. Long-term measurements are needed to analyse both long-term climatic trends and extreme events. 🌎🌪️
