Who invented the sump pump? That person deserves more honor and glory than we’ve been giving.

Sort of anecdotal, but my time in the auto insurance industry has convinced me that a LOT of the dudes with the jacked up $80K Ford F150s are paycheck to paycheck, have staggering commutes, and get absolutely killed by quickly rising gas prices

My wife has a lot of family in Poland, and one of her cousins was asking how the US can possibly afford this. The answer is, our public infrastructure and services suck colossally

On Friday, the principal reads shout-outs submitted by staff & students on the PA. Most weeks there's maybe 10 for different people. But.

I got a dozen. Each read by the principal praising my skills as a teacher.

I don't think it was planned, but it came across as a beautiful, respectful revolt.

Workshop on Investigating Prison Book Bans In this interactive workshop, you’ll learn how to request records, clean up data and shed light on carceral book bans.

For incarcerated people, #books are power are hope. #Bookbans are acts of oppression. Challenging them requires understanding them.

@themarshallproject.org hosts a virtual event teaching you how to investigate book bans.

Can y'all please stop with the "Let's be clear" line? It's cheesy and makes you look weak.

There are two jobs at Franklin and a combo social studies/science job at St. Joe. And maybe more will open up as teachers think about moving around.

I guess it's cheaper to have a long-term sub than me plus a mentor.

Dunno. On the 20 point rubric used over 2 42-minute observations, I had 0 unsatisfactory, 4 needs improvement, 14 proficients, and 2 excellents. I was expecting some mentoring, but instead I was told there would be no contract for me at Edison.

They just told me I wasn't an engaging teacher.

Part of the volleyball team grabbed takeout before their game tonight and then of course came to eat in my room.

I'm just trying to listen to music with swear words, kids.

A kid from the other team popped into my class to ask me a question. It is the last period of the day. This kid smelled like soap and baby shampoo and I really want to ask him his secret.

The 7th graders don't always clap at the end of a lecture, but when I tell them they are brilliant and I finish early on a sunny Friday afternoon? #Applause
