The epic Battlestar Galactica-inspired larp Odysseus has launched its crowdfunding campaign, attracting €100,000 in the space of five minutes!
It really is one of the most sophisticated and spectacular larps out there, so if you're at all interested in what Nordic larp is like, check it out.
While Make A Scene is proud to showcase international authors each year, we very much understand anyone uncomfortable with visiting the US from abroad at the moment.
Submit your pitch for a scenario by March 9
Whether or not you can attend the festival does not affect whether your scenario is accepted. If your scenario is accepted, we would be thrilled if you’re able to attend Make a Scene and facilitate it!
Premiere from Anywhere!
Premiere your larp at Make a Scene without needing to attend our festival. We have a proven track record of turning new larp scripts into exhilarating play experiences for our attendees, whether or not the author is present.
I’m so proud of our little team! We spent so much time devising the narrative and dynamic experience that became MONSTROSITY.
I never anticipated we’d be seen and recognized at this level of nomination. I’m floored 🧡🥰

It's a complex relationship map for a dinner party in Moscow in May, 1924, with the various leading lights of that time and place, like Vladimir Mayakovsky and Sergei Eisenstein.
A 15-player full costume weekend larp I'd love to play some time. I'd even build it if someone else were to run it. It'd be A Lot.
My students are running their first larps today and tomorrow and I am actually *crying* in pride.
"I fear some [council members] are indifferent." Have you paid someone's rent, organized a fundraiser, gone on patrol, found someone an attorney, done someone's laundry, delivered groceries, held a baby of someone sheltering in fear? "If not you may be too far removed to have good judgment."
Design Mentors!
Make a Scene provides its authors an experienced mentor for one-to-one feedback, advice, and support. Anyone can benefit a sympathetic person to bounce ideas off of, and first-time larp designers are especially encouraged to apply!
Submit your pitch for a scenario by March 9.
Make a Scene authors retain all rights to their work, and after the premiere at our festival they can showcase or publish their scenario anywhere.

Get Paid for Your Larp!
If your scenario is accepted to premiere at Make a Scene, we’ll pay you to write your larp for us. We’re a small grant-funded organization, so we offer a modest $300 honorarium. While this won’t cover anyone’s rent, the honorarium recognizes our authors’ commitment to create a new piece of art.
I'm going to promote the heck out of this:
The Minneapolis Foundation has $4 million in grants available to small businesses for everything from rent and payroll costs to legal help and temporary relocation.

The Invincible meme where two costumed super powered people watch a couple of jets fly by. The elder superhuman says, "Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power." The jets have been labeled "AI Bros" and the superhumans have been labeled "TTRPGs & LARPs"
Applications are open for the IGDN 2026 Diversity Scholarship by the iTDF: itdf.games
We have 4 spots for marginalized and underrepresented designers to receive mentorship plus $1000 USD no-strings-attached scholarship!

The No ICE in Minnesota bundle has raised over $466,000 at this point, fundraising legal aid for immigrants affected by federally sanctioned domestic terrorism. We spoke to the bundle's organizer about the global response from the tabletop hobby.
Mentioned in the episode: Still Life, the no-movement philosophical larp about being a rock. Created by Minnesotans!
it really is shocking how much self deprecation is seen as a cultural requirement for 'serious art.' 'real' artists are not allowed to exalt their work and must present it publicly as a sort of 'i dont think this is very good but maybe you will get around to it.' HECK THAT. love yourself

Hey tabletop gamers, if you bought or were considering buying this bundle but got overwhelmed by the number of games to sort through, have I got the spreadsheet for you!!
All 1,074 games tagged as "physical" sorted by play style, with language, engine, and genre notated to the best of my ability:
When people are talking about chaining different TTRPG systems together to form a larger, more complex narrative, you can literally do that by playing Breaking the Ice then Shooting the Moon then Under My Skin with the same(-ish) set of characters. The Romance Trilogy.
Have done it.
Can recommend.
PLEASE pitch us a boffer larp so good we have to figure out how to do this
The Audition is a short larp designed for remote play about an actor and their doppelganger competing for a part in a shitty sci-fi TV reboot. bullypulpitgames.itch.io/the-audition
You don't have to be there! They'll run it for you! They have access to a black box theater! It is amazing.
Totally agree with Jason that we have to leave a lot of great games on the cutting room floor. Since we're a little festival we historically have had to reject about 50% of the pitches we receive. If an idea strikes you, we've love for you to submit again!
Make A Scene is looking for fresh new parlor larps. They will give you $300 and help you tune up your game and then run it multiple times. They premiere first-time designers every year! It's a great festival and the sort of thing I'd love to see more of. makeascenemn.org/en/call-for-...
