Humanity heating planet faster than ever before, study finds
Researchers identify sharp rise to about 0.35C every decade, after excluding natural fluctuations such as El NiΓ±o
Of course it is! UK really missed an obvious opportunity when most of the coal mines closed in the 80's, to put huge investment into renewable energy creation and jobs retraining. We'd be so ahead of the curve now and could literally ignore the current oil crisis

Listening to your latest podcast π§ I was surprised that you guys didn't mention many of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series new software features except for the Privacy Mode, new charging speeds and stating that they are constantly copying Apple? Surely it's not always about the hardware changes? π€

@kermodeandmayo.bsky.social I've got to take you'all to task re: your Needledrop Hall of Fame finalists. You totally failed to include this superb example. In Thor: Ragnarok about 2/3rds of the way through when he takes on his Sister's hoards. It's an absolutely perfect fit!

FLOW | Official UK Trailer - In Cinemas 21 March
I'm genuinely not keen on cats on screen but I did go to see 'Flow' in the cinema back in
2024 and thought it was pretty good! There's actually no human characters or dialogue in this animated feature but the cat was the star and didn't prove to nauseating.

2/2 "What is the 20p for?" I explained straightforwardly that as the item wass Β£5.85, I would get Β£6.05 back, as not to get so much change in my refund. The assistant flatly refused to do this claiming it would making their till over. I calmly reiterated how the maths worked. I was still a refusal π€

1/2 Last week I brought a small thing from my local B&Q that cost Β£5.85. I paid cash with a fiver and a Β£2 coin and got the correct change. It wasn't suitable so today I went to refund it at the same branch. I presented the unpackaged item, my receipt and a 20p coin. The assistant straight up said,

I'm loving this drone's eye view that they're doing at the top end of the sliding track at the Winter Olympics this time.Β Would be interested to know if the device is human piloted or somewhat autonomous?

This is a simple story told in
straightforward way and the acting is solid throughout. However the camerawork was something that actually had to make me move a couple of rows back

As well as doing this, the richer countries should be putting more of the existing resources into automation so as to encourage the birth rates to stay low and this will include helping poorer nations too so there's a lot less migration across the planet which creates lots of unnecessary emissions.

All those things need to happen and it will take a very progressive hands on government to do it but unfortunately there's a huge amount of Americans who hate intrusive hands on governments. Someone like Mamdani has to get the backing to run in the next Presidential election against the Republicans.

The one thing that impressed me the most about this series was Gugu Mbatha-Raw and the rest of the Sea Devil's, (Homo Aqua) make up and costumes. The story however was very lackluster with an extremely unsatisfactory conclusion.
