Cowboy boot stained glass
Angel stained glass piece, left over from Christmas
Pre-fused piece
Painting on glass.
Some other bits and piecesβ¦
β¨ cowboy boots with Scraffito detail
β¨ left behind xmas angel from the βto be finished shelfβ
β¨ pre-fused panel for a bowl
β¨ some painted bits for the next piece Iβm working on (a bothy!)
Stained glass piece in all clear glass.
Stained glass piece in all clear glass.
Stained glass piece in all clear glass.
Stained glass piece in all clear glass.
Finished this piece a fortnight ago. A copperfoil piece using all clear glass. Looking forward to putting it in the kitchen window. The final pic shows the iridescent glass under water when I was washing the flux off πβ¨
3D cubes in stained glass. Itβs in a rainbow gradient from blues to yellows.
3D cubes in stained glass. Itβs in a rainbow gradient from blues to yellows.
Finished this one yesterday. The iridescent glass makes it look a bit different on each side (think I prefer the yellow > blue). The leading was awful and my soldering needs more work. But first piece of 2026!
A decorative thistle design. The thistle has a traditional purple and green head. The background glass is clear with coloured fragments.
A copperfoiled Christmas bauble.
A dusty almost finished piece of leaded stained glass.
The finished piece in the window for sale!
The Scraffito thistle in a leaded piece (24) and a copper foil bauble I made for a Secret Santa gift π€ (25). Iβm now at the point I can help out with other things going on - this piece inspired by the Templeton carpet factory was left unfinished by someone (26), so I cleaned & finished it off (27)
Two pieces of glass painted and etched to make up the head of a thistle.
A decorative band across a Christmas bauble.
A decorative band across a Christmas bauble
More Scraffito designs on strips of glass.
I then learned how to do Scraffito - painting on glass, which is then fired in the kiln and can be incorporated in pieces. I did some thistles (20, see next post) and lots of baubles for markets (21-23)β¦
A small brown, three pointed leaf.
Two mountain peaks and a Christmas bauble.
More tree decorations: A four pointed star in clear and iridescent glass, and a Christmas tree in greens.
Three basic fused decorations: a reindeer with wire antlers, a snowy tree on a blue background, and an abstract tree with red and white dots.
The brill thing about the workshop I go to is the opportunity to keep learning new skills⦠so I branched into copperfoiling and fusing.
16. My first copper foil piece: a wee autumnal leaf
17-18. Christmas copper foiled decorations.
19. A bad attempt at fusingβ¦
An abstract design using brown, yellow, teal and clear glass.
The same abstract design in rainbow colours. This image shows all the cut glass.
The same abstract design in rainbow colours. This picture shows it almost fully leaded.
The same abstract design in rainbow colours. This is the finished piece. It goes from warm colours (reds and yellows) to cold colours (purples and blues).
I then moved on to do a piece using scrap glassβ¦ I made it in neutrals first (12) before making it in rainbow colours π (13-15)
An in-progress picture of a design inspired by Cottiers in Glasgowβs west end. It is shades of blue and purple, with textured clear glass.
Finished piece held up in the sun.
A spiderweb! This is a corner piece that used lots of clear, textured glass.
The finished spiderweb held up to the light
Next up, a piece inspired by Cottiers (8 & 9), and a cobweb for Halloween πΈοΈπ·οΈ (10 & 11)
This design is a large leaf. Iβve chosen to do it in browns, so it looks very autumnal.
Most of the piece is leaded here.
The finished piece. Itβs a brown teardrop leaf, with clear glass around it.
Immediately went back and moved on to the next design: simple leaf. This was definitely not simpleβ¦
5. Mapping out the colours
6. Almost finished leading
7. Finished piece!
A range of glass laid out. Colours range from a large iridescent blue chunk, lots of green, and yellow and brown.
All the glass has been cut and laid out in the design.
Around half of the piece is leaded here.
The finished piece in the sunlight! Itβs an abstract scene, that Iβve chosen to be quite like a landscape.
2025 had several lows but one of the positives was me discovering stained glass π₯° A thread of everything Iβve made since Aug 2025 that I remembered to take a picture of:
1. Picking colours
2. Cut glass
3. First foray into leading
4. Finished piece!
I only just twigged that you are Aimee from JS π₯° the bee looks FANTASTIC! Well done! (Hopefully bump into you in the workshop again soon!)
