I really enjoy Resident Evils… it’s genuinely impressive how bad I am at them. I really don’t handle the tension all that well haha.

Really got the new set excitement going. I always do but… this time especially so.
I’m really excited for the upcoming season, if a bit nervous that this is the first time in 2 years where I feel like I don’t have a “default” deck thanks to the bans. Really hard to say goodbye to a deck that’s done so much for me it feels like.
It sucks because I genuinely want the game to succeed, even if I really won’t be able to play it unless it really explodes. But also like… as nice as Dan seems to be, so much of this seems like it should have been preventable, at least for the optics of it all.
Heck of a day for FFTCG discussion lol. Generally, I think the game was in a fine spot but I understand why action was taken and pretty much every card was deserving. I wish Lasswell and GigaWoL and Taivas got checked as well… I’ll talk about it in a video later.
youtu.be/VJm4Va-_few?... The OG song is already incredible but I adore this take on it and how differently it captures emotion.
However… it’s incredible. The characters are great, the combat mostly works if feeling a bit weird, especially at first. The music is almost as good as the original…. Highly recommend checking out the acoustic version of the TWEWY OSTs… I’ll get a link.
I’m still *beyond* amazed the game not only exists but is genuinely fantastic. I thought I was in for a rough one - legacy sequels aren’t always the best and Square seemed desperate to hide the game on reveal. They had an E3 show 2 months before release where it got 45 frames in the showcase.
My assumption is that they didn’t really have a crystallized plot, just a character design that Nomura had either started to refine or originally rejected for TWEWY that was reworked and used later.
I get that it’s mostly a vibe game once people get going, it’s well animated and gorgeous for its time, the music is great, Sora controls well…
I started replaying KH2 a bit on PC since I picked up a PC handheld. Finally kinda working my way through that level 1 Crit playthrough.
… admittedly, the story in KH2 just isn’t very good. It’s convoluted for no real gain, and follows rule of cool to its own detriment.
Of the new cards, Rydia is stunning art but I don’t know if she’s worth the 5 CP, Ulmia is incredible, one of the best cards Lightning has ever gotten and Lightning Prerelease is maybe one of the most broken cards they’ve ever printed. Reallllly hope that one doesn’t become a problem.
That’s damn fun, NGL. Really does feel like a mix of TWEWY and RE. Dunno if I’m excited for anything story wise but gameplay has my interest.
I would like to say, whoever at Retro decided that Time Attacks in Tropical Freeze don’t need you to input reset after a death made them a million times better. It’s so frustrating to time attack Returns.
Also, Dixie makes Returns sooooooo much better it’s not even funny.
Fuck me - I skipped this and now they back ported Dixie - my all time favorite platformer character to it? Holy shit.
I need to play the Pragmata demo. I’ve never seen a game give off this heavy of TWEWY vibes with its combat. If it’s actually TWEWY X RE4 in gameplay… that’s a heck of a combo to pull off.
I genuinely do not understand how crypto rug pulls work. Or continue to work. Surely everyone that could consider them at this point knows what a rug pull is and backs away? Where does the money continue to come from on them to this degree?
Excited to hear your thoughts on it when you find the Elestrals account PW again. (Totally understandable to be busy right now)
Finished Prime 4. Honestly… I really liked it. It’s got a few issues for sure but it kept me hooked and playing from beginning to end which is a first for a Metroid game.
GDI
Man, I don’t even know what my stream anniversary is…
Hopefully they Square does it with some of their other abandoned mobile games in the future. They are not great stewards of them but I’ve heard nothing but praise for the stories in Mobius, Brave Exvius/War of the Lions, Dissidia Opera Omnia etc and their main issue was monetization.
It’s really weird - I’ve said for a long time that I think Metroid Prime is an absolute masterpiece that I have bounced off of 3 times and have no interest in playing… and somehow Metroid Prime 4 actually managed to hook me. It’s not perfect at all but it’s the first Metroid I’ve gotten this far on.
Im super curious about what the Gacha was. In a lot of ways, it really doesn’t look or feel like one.
And our entire economy is so dependent on this tech taking off that it’s perpetuatally forced down our throats in every facet because the moment the tech is truly forced to be recognized as fraudulent, everything collapses.
I hate gen AI so fucking much man… Legitimately, the tech at this point amounts to “a google search that could generously said to be slightly better at coding” and “the worst things happening at any given moment” and as a cost, computers are about to spike, environmental effects are crippling…
Let me know if you end up in Melbourne. Would love to say hi sometime.
The 4 cards that made my year:
So I had a pretty good weekend. :)
