Utica Institute Jubilee Singers recorded 4 tracks for Brunswick/ARC in Jackson in 1935. Sadly, their recordings were not issued, though they recorded extensively for Victor. The Utica Institute is now a branch of Hinds Community College.

Lynch Sisters recorded 10 cuts for ARC in Jacksonville in 1935. Only one record was issued, Vocalion 03133. Session data online.

Speculation, but they must have had technical problems at the Jackson sessions as less than 40% of the masters were issued.

Columbia's post-1923 12" AX/WAX prefix matrixes from the UK are being added to DAHR. The data is adapted from Ronald Taylor's 1994 discography. (The pre-23 masters were added in 2021.) We will feature artists documented in this series on Mondays beginning today.

Instructional materials were a common use of sound 78rpm recordings. Many companies recorded Morse code instruction. Italian Columbia recorded "Alfabeto Morse" a year prior to Italy entering WWII. Data now online.
