So much new @theworldanvil.bsky.social stuff this week! Valraven (books, cards, dice, and more), the Monad Echo SRD, and Ruin! This really has put me in the mood to run a Monad Echo game, and while Valraven would need more reading time than I have right now, Ruin might just fit the bill.
It is a love letter to Berserk, you won’t be disappointed (and you’ll probably find some easter eggs)!

I think this is the main issue. The alternatives don't work as well unless you have a massive, massive follow that would buy whatever you put out without even checking what it is.
Show us a world where you can get funding to develop a TTRPG without overwhelming pressure, and we'll drop crowdfunding today
As a side note, American friends, the ordeal you’re going through is not going unnoticed. Some things have been left there to fester for too long and the time of reckoning has come. That said we really hope, for everybody’s sake, that you find a way to reverse some of the damage
We could, technically, do some print runs internally to the US, but we won’t for two reasons: 1) we don’t have such a volume that would make the cost per unit acceptable and 2) we’re rather close our balls in a closet than contributing to the US economy right now
We have already begun exploring Asian markets and unless a complete reversal comes swiftly, we will need to focus on a different core audience. This is not something we WANT to do, but something we HAVE to do, morally and business-wise
Internally we’re seriously discussing pausing any upcoming project: with half of our backers usually based in the US, a business model based around the US to be profitable starts to make zero sense. Our business will be at the whim of a spoiled toddler and his cruel friends
The continuous threats, bullying and commercial instability caused by the Trump administration makes timely and on-budget fulfillment of crowdfunding campaigns near impossibile. If rules can be changed overnight, essentially there’s no rule we can plan upon.

Paywalls for niche creators and especially non-English users is really really tricky. To have any hope of recouping something, everything needs to be in English, just for the law of big numbers. I can work with it but it cuts off a lot of people.
Gotta say, sometimes it’s hard to make publishing plans 2-3 years in the future when every day there’s a new crisis caused by a bunch of greedy morons, and we don’t even know if we’ll have half of our audience that far out or if the logistics of it will be completely impossibile to deal with.
Most people _don’t have the tools_ to tell if something is good. At the heart of it, it’s an education problem.
